    Autumn Weather

    Autumn Weather

The days here in the Netherlands are getting shorter and the weather gloomier... Not really my favorite season, but occasionally nature makes up for it, with a bit of sunshine you get some fantastic colors of all the fallen leaves. But also the mushrooms are suddenly popping up everywhere. Colorwise perhaps not that impressive, but its 'structure' is a whole different cup of tea! Fungi too are making an appearance. I doubt of any of these are edible... They start tiny but can
    Rehearsal Time

    Rehearsal Time

Back in the Netherlands again... My brother Gert suddenly got a call, if he was interested in joining his friend's band rehearsal in Amsterdam?! As he enjoys singing and has had some experience, sure, why not?! Being a music nerd myself I joined as well of course. Gert took his own microphone along. Laura on bass & David on drums, that evening's rhythm twins! And Rene on guitar, looking suspiciously like David Byrne nowadays BUT without the moves! Mama take this badge from me
Bangkok Photographers Walk: Down In The Park

Bangkok Photographers Walk: Down In The Park

At last we had a real photographer walk again and for this occasion we went to Bangkok's largest park: Rama IX I had been there once before many, many years ago and couldn't remember much of it, except for the sci-fi like building near the lake. The overall state of the park is pretty good and it boasts a huge diversity of plants and trees. Best is to let the pictures speak for themselves... Thon Buri Si Mahasamut Biking Route

Thon Buri Si Mahasamut Biking Route

Wherever possible I like to bring a bit of variety to my cycling routine. Recently I bumped into an official BMA bike routing map near Wat Puranawat. Obviously, it had been there quite some time (only phone number, no QR code or website), but this ‘Thon Buri Si Mahasamut Biking Route’ looked quite impressive. (*) Although quite detailed obviously it wasn’t to scale, its width should probably be 5x as much as shown above. View of Wat Puranawat I noticed some other weird things
    The Great Flood

    The Great Flood

It looks like that the shit might hit the fan again or in this case the water reaching flood levels... In late July 2011 massive amounts of water began to come down from the North slowly towards Bangkok... That period also being the monsoon season made it only worse. (*) The ice cream vendor continued his business as usual (until the water level got even higher). Northern, northeastern, and central provinces along the Mekong and Chao Phraya rivers got flooded.
