Communists, Parks, Stones, Temples & Viewpoints

Part of our recent inspection tour included a visit of Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park which used to be a serious communist hide out during the 1970's.

Besides the historical aspects the park itself boasts great view points, lush forest and weird rock formations, especially those at Lan Hin Taek.

Equally unusual is an artistic combined temple memorial to the fallen communists, Wat Sam Saeng Tham, which can be visited along the way to the park.

The crematorium.

A viewpoint along the way.

Lush vegetation indeed.

Local tourists are visiting as well.

I spent some time sitting along these nodulated stones but they're not very comfortable!

On clear days like these the views are mind boggling.

This looks like being on another planet...

This is Pha Chu Thong where once another flag was raised!

Once a symbol of communist revolution and nowadays just another touristy cap...
