Ficus Noodles

During one of my recent walkabouts in town with Tim we ended up somewhere off Charan Sanitwong Road where we noticed a massive tree coming out of a walled area.

A closer inspection turned up a so-called 'boat noodles' restaurant behind the wall.

Perfect timing as it was about lunch time and a good excuse to have a closer look at this serious ficus/banyan/strangler fig tree.

Instead of a main trunk there seemed to be several...

A seemingly total chaos of tree branches.

Inside the restaurant, basic, but efficient.

I had a look inside the 'inner tree trunks circle',

while the chef was cooking up a 'gu-ay tee-ow ruea moo namtok'.

Dizzy effect...

Bon appetite!
