Modern Architecture: Belvedere Tower

Although I usually focus on the past, this particular building in Hilversum caught my interest as well.

Designed by René Van Zuuk Architekten they made good use of the limited 450 sqm footprint.

Apparently the good people of Hilversum wanted a unique building which should 'be sculptural in form and architecturally iconic'....

I guess they certainly got that!

This cantilever concept certainly resulted in something different.

Whether I would like to live there is a different story of course.

For sure it looks more interesting than the drab houses in the surrounding area...
