Trails, Trees, and Moths.

The clueless trio's final jungle hike at Cardamom...

We left the special campsite and took a boat back.

At the restaurant we admired some of the (very) local wildlife...

These weird things look like flowers but actually are insects.

They happily walked around...

The next morning we set out for an easy guide-less hike, complete with signposts!

These grow on some tree trunks.

Here too vegetation running riot.

The trail was OK most of the way.

Of course with an occasional detour...

Not really a forest giant but still impressive.

Watching out for leeches and snakes?

Some of the trees had 'name cards', but we found it hard to take them seriously...

Some trees seemed to consist mainly of roots...

Keep on walking, but watch out for pit vipers....

A barkless tree.

Here the trail was getting a bit difficult...

A very nasty tree!

Bruce contemplating being lost forever...

One of the bigger trees.

Some of these signs seemed a bit silly...

Crawling through the bush...

Easy crossing back to the Ranger Station.

From there we kayaked back to Cardamom Tented Camp (*).

Serenity on the river...

I love the surreal mirror effects of the river's surface.

Back at the camp I had a good chance to look at all the winged visitors who'd arrived during the night!

Incredible wing patterns and so well camouflaged.

They look more like futuristic spaceships than anything else...

And this was the biggest one!

Artist's impression.

After this we checked out, took a boat, and finally a car back to Trat, Thailand!
