Buriram By Bike - part 1

One very early December morning I got on my bike and cycled to Thonburi Junction Station.

I bought a ticket and carried my bike to the platform.

I didn't have to wait long for the Red Line to arrive and take me to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Station.

ree

There I bought an additional ticket for my bike and loaded it into the luggage section of the train.

ree

The train wasn't too full and the seats were padded, not bad at all.

ree

Third-class travel with open windows, natural air conditioning but still hot later in the day...

ree

My poor bike had to travel in less comfort...

ree

Upon arrival, I had a 70 km ride waiting for me.

The first two hours cycling along the highway weren't great, but the last part was along small B-roads and much more pleasant.

ree

Passing agricultural equipment at various farms such is this vehicle.

ree

Just before dark, I arrived at my destination: Baan BongPhaOhn Resort. (*)

ree

It's a pretty cool resort with loads of coffee-related paraphernalia.

ree

Some of the 'attractions' in this part of Buriram, although later I discovered that the homestay closed down some time ago and the silk weaving place was a bit 'past its prime' to be polite...

ree

Power breakfast in a Nang Rong Restaurant, excellent.

ree

Classic Esaan landscape view.

ree

A bit more unusual temple: Wat Charoen Nimit

ree

Traditional use of the temple grounds for agricultural purposes.

ree

This turned out to be a very nice coffee shop.

ree

Excellent cappuccino served with a glass of cold water, appreciated.
